40th Anniversary of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Egypt Office

In the presence of His Excellency Julius Georg Luy, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Egypt, Mrs. Christiane Kesper (Director of the International Cooperation of FES, Berlin) and Mr. Ralf Hexel (Head of the MENA Department of FES, Berlin), the anniversary was celebrated.

The celebration took place within a beautiful setting on Thursday, October 18, 2016 at the terrace garden of its office premises in Zamalek / Cairo, welcoming all partners and friends of the foundation in Egypt.

The celebration was opened with a welcome address of Mr. Armin Hasemann, Resident Representative of the FES in Egypt.

A fascinating laser show introduced the impressive anniversary film that brought back some memories of the 40-year long history, highlighted some benefits and achievements of the cooperation and introduced a vision for the future.

After a surprising interlude of a Sufi band, our distinguished guests shared their remarks. A dinner reception with music and candle-light concluded the evening in a beautiful atmosphere.
